AE excited about PACE opportunities

By admin • June 9th, 2011

Murrieta, CA, home to Ambassador Energy, is part of 15 cities in WRCOG which will participate in their area’s version of PACE/AB811 financing. The program is allocating $300 million to home and business owners who want to add solar PV to offset high energy costs and “go green”.

“We are anxiously awaiting news from WRCOG this month,” said Kelly Smith, Ambassador Energy’s president. “If the state passes new legislation, a re-vamp of the PACE program sued last year by Fannie Mae, will allow people to readily afford solar by having the program pay for the systems and add the cost to their property taxes, ammortized out 20 years at a low interest rate. It is a huge win for the property owners, as the qualifying is very easy and the payments should be far lower than their previous electric bills. This is what we need to do the right thing for our neighbors and the environment!”
